Fall is a season of change. As the leaves change colors, it also has me thinking about other types of change – namely, the changes our bodies go through as we experience ED recovery.


These changes can be tough to cope with. No matter what stage of recovery you’re in, it can feel uncomfortable not to recognize the person you see in the mirror.


If you’re currently struggling to accept a changing body, my tip for you is this: write positive affirmations about your body! Write them on post-it notes and stick them to the mirror, where you’ll see them every time you look at your reflection.


Need ideas for what to write? Think of the most self-critical thought you have about your body. Chances are, you wouldn’t say that to a friend. See if you can rephrase this thought in a more compassionate way, and use it as your inspiration!
